Stream Warning Messages

If you internet connection is poor and not fast enough to support your video resolution throughout your livestreaming, we'll, automatically text you stream warning messages.

This article outlines what to do when you receive a Stream Warning Messages and how to prevent these from becoming a regular occurrence.

When you receive a stream warning message from sidelineHD it is to alert you that your internet connection is poor and not fast enough to support your current video resolution. This can result in issues with stream quality. If you receive a stream warning text from sidelineHD, we suggest lowering your video resolution to help your internet connection keep up with your livestream. Please keep in mind, changing video resolution during a stream can cause the stream to go down briefly before resuming.

There are different ways to change your video resolution depending on where you are streaming to:

sidelineHD App:

  1. During your livestream, select the Drop Down Arrow next to your team name/stream time
  2. Select the resolution you wish to change to

GoPro:

  1. In the GoPro Quick app, disconnect your GoPro camera
  2. Select Resolution
  3. Select the resolution you wish to change to
  4. Select Set Up Live Stream

Larix Broadcaster app:

  1. In the Larix Broadcaster app, stop streaming
  2. Select the gear icon
  3. Select Camera
  4. Select Resolution
  5. Select the resolution you wish to change to
    • 540p is a good option when resolving stream warning messages. It keeps the 16x9 wide angle but can be easier for cellular connection

Mevo:

  1. In the Mevo app, disconnect your Mevo camera
  2. When you go live again, select Stream (this is your resolution)
  3. Select the resolution you wish to change to
  4. Select Go Live
